Is it legal to install a prefab house on rural land?
A fixed prefab home is considered a building and, as a general rule, can only be installed on urban land; on rural land there are very limited exceptions. And a mobile home does not escape this by being on wheels: the Supreme Court treats mobile homes as prefab houses and not as trailers, so, if it is to be lived in, it needs a licence like any other home. Always check with the town council before buying.
